Tahoe Christian Center was established in 1969 as a Bible Study involving initially five families. The founding pastor, Paul Cecil, wanted the church to be "more than just a church". The original vision involved reaching out to troubled young people, a vision that was later fulfilled in the founding of Christian Encounter Ministries in Grass Valley. The next pastor was Paul Clark, who for nearly ten years, along with his wife, Ricki, reached out to numerous young families, as well as young people.

3 of the 4 Pastors were present in June 1999 when the church celebrated its 30th anniversary. Receiving a proclamation from the California State Senate are (left to right) Paul Cecil, Wane Thomas, and Tom Salter.

The current church campus, three beautiful acres on property that is virtually lake front, was acquired during the Clark's ministry, in 1974. The longest ministry here, conducted by Wayne and Pauline Thomas, was 21 years in length. Known for his warm hospitality and strong Bible teaching, Pastor Wayne led the church in stability and love among the members. The latest pastor is Richard Mesa. Unity is high on their core value list.  Their vision for Tahoe Christian Center involves becoming a "place of refuge where grace abounds". Implementing growth strategies to bring renewal and outreach, they have lofty goals for the development of the church. The elders and deacons are aggressively weighing future goals. The staff is committed  to youth and children. Geographic outreach Bible studies, seeker-friendly services, contemporary worship, and mentoring for leadership development, are a few of the initiatives that the staff  hopes to develop.

We are a friendly church that has a warm welcome for visitors.

Come and see!
